
Puerto Penasco animal rights activist Nancy Phelan, founder of the Animal Adoption Center of Rocky Point will be an honored guest at Hope for the Animals in Phoenix on February 6.
Nancy, founder of the Animal Adoption Center of Rocky Point has done much over the years to advocate for animals and change the way that officials address the issue of street dogs and cats, and at one point was recognized by former Mexican President Vicente Fox.
Animal Adoption of RP is a nonprofit Mexican corporation. In August of 2002, Nancy began taking in strays.
On February 6, the Friends of Animal Care & Control and the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition are joining forces with an art auction to raise money and an awards ceremony recognizing the hard work and dedication of Valley animal rescue groups.
Another special guest at the function will be Lieutenant Colonel Jay Kopelman, author of From Baghdad, with Love: A Marine, the War, and a Dog Named Lava.
